The lofty Himalayas and the many rivers born from the mountains have inspired holy men, pilgrims and seekers for ages. Uttarakhand is home to a number of popular shrines and temples that are known for their positive energy and their scenic locations. The Char Dham temples of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri are visited by lakhs of pilgrims every year as has been done by seekers for thousands of years now.Apart from these Uttarakhand is also known for a number of other temples rich in folklore and mythology on the Char Dham route, we organize customized tours and treks for visiting these popular circuits along with highlighting certain offbeat temples and the exciting mythology behind them.
Drive from Haridwar/Dehradun to Barkot. Visit Shiva Temple and Kempty Falls near Mussourie and Shiva Temple at Lakhamandal that was built in 12-13 century A.D.
Drive to Janki Chatti and then trek or take a doli/pony to Yamunotri Temple and return to Barkot in the evening.
Drive to Uttarkashi. Today is bit relaxed day after trek to Yamunotri. Attend evening pooja at Vishwanath Temple. Those interested in Trekking and Mountainerring can visit Nehru Institute of Mountaineering as well.
Drive to Gangotri temple and have darshan. Temple is closed in the afternoon. If time permits then team can visit hot springs of Gangnani, picturesque Harsil and Mukhba village which is winter abode of Goddess Ganga. Also visit Kalpa Kedar temple at Dharali which is on the way only. Return back to Uttarkashi for overnight stay.
If there is time on reaching Guptkashi then visit Vishwanath temple and 12-13 century temple cluster. Stay overnight in Guptkashi/Sitapur.
Start early morning and drive to Gauri Kund. Hire ponies/doli to visit Kedarnath. Since the floods the number of people allowed to stay in Kedarnath is limited as the only option of accommodation is GMVN. We will try to book the accommodation as soon as possible but in case there is no availability then the other option is go to Kedarnath and come back down the same day. Helicopter service is also available.
If previous day the stay was in Kedarnath, then we will climb down to Gauri Kund and stay in Guptkashi. If the trip to Kedarnath is completed in one day then this day would be used to visit the Panch Kedar Temple of Tungnath
Drive from Guptkashi to Joshimath via Ukhimath/Mandal. Visit Gopinath Temple in Gopeshwar, Jyotirmath and Narshingh temple at Joshimath.
Drive to Badrinath and have darshan. One can take dip in hot springs near the temple. After darshan visit Mana village which is the last Indian village before the Indo-China border.
Drive back to haridwar. If one wants to visit Panch Badri temples of Adi Badri, Vigyan Badri, Pandukeshwar etc, the sangam at Karnaprayag and Rudraprayag on the way then one extra night stay at Srinagar is recomended.
Visit Rishikesh and local sight-seeing. Witness Ganga Aarti in Rishikesh or Haridwar in the evening. Trip ends here.
