Pickup from Kathgodam/Haldawani railway or bus station and drive to Loharkhet via Almora, Kausani and Baijnath. Sight-seeing en route at Bhimtal , Sat Tal, Katarmal Sun Temple and hill station of Kausani. Baijnath was the erstwhile capitol of the Katyui Kings and is home to an impressive cluster of temples dating to the 11th century.
Drive from Baijnath to the village of Khirkiya and an easy trek in the verdant rhododendron, oak jungle with gradual height gain to the village of Khati.
Today we trek along the Pindar Valley to the campsite of Dwali which is perched on the confluence of the River Pindar and the turbulent stream coming from Kafni Glacier.
A day full of adventure while trekking to Zero Point of Pindari Glacier and camping in lush meadows surrounded by towering peaks like Nanda Khat, Baljuri and Changuch.
Return to the campsite at Dwali.
Retrace your steps to the village of Khati where one can spend the evening exploring the village and have a cultural exchange with the villagers.
A relaxing day to recover after the long walking days. Overnight in the picturesque camping grounds of Dhakuri in the shadow of Maiktoli and Panwali Dwar peaks.
Trek to the road head at Khirkiya and take a taxi to Haldwani. Alternatively people can choose to halt at Kasar Devi near Almora for the night. Kasar Devi has been associated for centuries with mystics and seekers like Swami Vivekananda. It was also a very popular spot during the hippie movement of 60s and 70s with famous names like Bob Dylan and Uma Thurman being associated with it.
